Our client is a leading FMCG Distributor, who are currently recruiting for an experienced Health & Safety and Environmental professional as they look to recruit a Depot Services Manager for their site in Worcester.

As Depot Services Manager, you will help make sure the depot is a safe and enjoyable place to work by administering key health and safety, environmental processes and coordinating building maintenance activity.

Reporting into the Head of Operations, you will be expected to administer Health and Safety, Food Safety and Environmental processes required for the depot to operate in accordance with legal and company standards. Moreover, you will ensure the depot facilities are legal and compliant in co-ordination with the management team and Regional Facilities Manager.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Facilitate the completion of all facilities and building-related jobs on site
  • You will be a key support for the depot in keeping their facilities and processes legally compliant, with support from depot management and regional QHSE team.
  • You will be a first point of contact for third party contractors whilst on site e.g. pest control, waste and environmental contractors.
  • Ensure all routine checks are completed across a daily to monthly cycle, making sure the site is up to date with all health and safety procedures including fire, emergency lighting, legionella, asbestos and cleaning schedules.
  • Supporting the depot in passing internal and external audits, and keeping on track of any correct actions that arise.
  • You will also help us to make sure all employees on site are up to date with their training requirements via the e-learning management system
  • Support depot reporting & investigation of incidents and coordinate appropriate documentation
  • Provide guidance to the management team to comply with internal and external audits and close out requirements after audit with the support of the appropriate support departments
  • Liaise & monitor facilities contractors while they are on site, e.g. pest control, waste contractor, environmental contractors and ensure any actions resulting are completed

The Ideal Candidate for Depot Services Manager:

  • Good knowledge of operational processes and standards, and how these are applied practically.
  • You will have knowledge of Health and Safety, Environmental Management and Food Standards.
  • You will be able to communicate effectively with a range of colleagues in the depot up to senior management as well as external professionals.
  • You will have a positive approach to work, be able to work well independently and use your initiative to identify solutions to areas of non-compliance.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to persuade and influence senior management.
  • IT literate - Microsoft Office applications
