Our client, Yamazaki Mazak is a leading global manufacturing company based in Worcester.

This is an excellent opportunity to work for a market leading Machine Tool manufacturer who have been at the forefront of the industry for many years.

Due to increased demand within the department, our client now has a requirement for a Project Engineer.

365 Resourcing is the preferred supplier to Mazak.

The role of Project Engineer within European Sales Engineering focuses on latest technology product and process development, together with evaluation and benchmarking related to all types of Mazak Machines. There will be a primary focus on Mazak automation and associated complementary technologies.

The experience required for the role includes a strong knowledge of machining including turning, milling and part handling processes over a variety of industries, with the ability to plan machining processes and carry out associated machining development.

Knowledge of the principles of Macro programming, PLC and software control, would also be advantageous. Excellent communication skills are required at all levels working with sales operations, dealers, agents and customers.

Specific responsibilities include:

• Analysis of market requirements/ customer challenges to justify product development.

• Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to define new product specifications and project scope.

• Developing interfaces and technology for complementary technologies such as measurement, workholding and feedback systems, ensuring that Mazak machines can be easily adapted to customers’ needs.

• Manage projects throughout their lifecycle, ensuring the build / evaluation is on target and delivering promotional and technical support / training to our European Applications Departments.

Projects will be varied in scope, duration and on occasions will run in parallel. The individual will be required to scope, plan, monitor and deliver projects together with preparation of summary reports while managing available time and resources efficiently.

The preferred technical qualifications/skills for the role include: an HNC/D in Engineering, experience with Mazatrol and EIA/ISO programming, strong problem-solving skills, together with a flexible approach to a varied and challenging workload.

The role is office based, working extensively in the European Technology Centre. Travel will be required occasionally and when required to visit Mazak subsidiaries and customers. Candidates who do not possess all the required qualifications / experience but can demonstrate the potential for development training may also be considered for the role.
