Tool Hire Fitter / Driver who is mechanically minded with good fault-finding experience is required to service, test and repair a range of tools for a well-established Building Supplies company based in Worcester, Worcestershire, West Midlands.

WORKING HOURS: 44.5 Hours per Week, including 1 in 4 Saturdays 0800 - 1200

PLEASE NOTE: Candidates will need a Full Driving Licence (a vehicle will be provided)

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Tool Hire Fitter / Driver who is mechanically minded with good fault-finding experience is required to service, test and repair a range of tools.

Working as the Tool Hire Fitter / Driver you will ensure customers receive exceptional service every time.

As the Tool Hire Fitter / Driver you will also ensure that all fleet items are serviced and maintained to the highest standard and carry out deliveries and collections. You will be servicing and testing a wide range of tools, both mechanical and electrical, as well as providing a service for customers who require their own tools to be repaired.

The successful candidate will possess a good mechanical knowledge and preferably some experience of working in a Tool Hire environment. Excellent customer service skills are also key along with the ability to work well under pressure and to work to timeframes.

DUTIES

Your duties as the Tool Hire Fitter / Driver include:

  • Diagnose and repair faults on a variety of mechanical and electrical tools
  • Perform routine servicing and maintenance on hire equipment
  • Test and inspect tools to ensure they meet safety and operational standards
  • Provide repair services for customer-owned tools
  • Ensure all hire fleet items are serviced and maintained to the highest standard
  • Maintain accurate records of servicing and repairs
  • Ensure equipment is clean, safe, and ready for hire
  • Safely and efficiently deliver and collect hire equipment to and from customer sites
  • Load and unload equipment, ensuring it is secured properly
  • Provide clear and concise instructions to customers on the operation of equipment
  • Provide exceptional customer service at all times
  • Provide technical advice and support to customers

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven mechanical aptitude and fault-finding experience
  • Experience servicing and repairing mechanical and electrical tools
  • Preferably experience working within a tool hire environment would be desirable
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work independently
