GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a hugely successful, specialist manufacturer located in Bishops Frome. We are currently recruiting on their behalf for a Technical Sales Engineer to join their team on a full-time permanent contract.

This is a Monday - Friday position working 39 hours per week, with a weekly flexible working hours policy, with a salary on offer up to £35,000 which is pending relevant experience, entry into the company bonus scheme, onsite parking, health care cash plan and more!

As a Technical Seales Engineer you will help maintain the current customer base and develop new business relationships within the healthcare and fire suppression industries.

The ideal candidate for this position will have a solid technical understanding of the company and its products (full product training will be given to the successful applicant). Your engineering knowledge combined with excellent communication skills will enable you to successfully build rapport with existing and potential clients.

Experience in HVAC/Fire industry desirable, but not essential - however we must see evidence of a successful history in sales and business development.

Technical Sales Engineer main duties:

  • Interpret customer drawings/specifications to provide accurate proposals/quotations
  • Providing technical assistance to clients
  • Establish and maintain good relationships with new and existing customers/distributors
  • Generate and follow up on leads/quotes
  • Assist with producing reportage as required
  • Contribute to delivering against agreed sales targets
  • Attend exhibitions as required to promote products/services
  • Attend customer/site visits and technical meetings as required
  • Work closely with Production and Engineering departments to meet customer requirements and deadlines
  • Build knowledge and application of industry standards
  • Help the company maintain ISO-9001 accreditation
  • Maintain customer/project database as needed
  • Support managers/directors to implement the company's policies, goals and ethics

Technical Sales Engineer required skills and experience:

  • Experience in HVAC/Fire industry desirable, but not essential
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good knowledge of MS Office and sales databases
  • Proactive, self-motivated individual who can work on own initiative
  • Strong team player and strong negotiation skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
