Tradewind are pleased to offer a brilliant opportunity to work as a Cover Teacher or HLTA at an SEND school for autism in Workington, West Cumbria commencing as soon as possible!!!
The school cater for children with autism and associated learning difficulties, across the primary and secondary age range, and they are looking for a Cover Teacher OR a HLTA to start as soon as possible.
This General Cover / HLTA role will entail covering and leading lessons across the school to release class teachers to deliver interventions, and also covering for PPA. There is flexibility for a primary or secondary trained/ experienced candidate, and class sizes are small, with 6-8 pupils in each classroom on average, with at least 2 TAs in each classroom.
Experience of supporting children with additional educational needs is desirable, but not essential, and support will be provided by SLT and TA staff where required.
The position is until Christmas in the first instance, with permanent opportunities coming up in the school in 2025 for the right candidate.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is beneficial but not essential for this Cover Teacher / HLTA role
- Experience of leading and covering lessons in a school setting
- Good classroom and behaviour management skills
- Ability to engage and inspire students in a specialised SEN setting
- Are able to demonstrate resilience, patience and a positive approach to behaviour management
