Elevation Recruitment are pleased to be working with a well-established engineering and construction business in Worksop as they look to bring in a new Management Accountant into the team. They have been established for over 150 years and have operations spanning all across the globe.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager This role will have 2 direct reports and will be responsible for production of month end reports and accounts, supporting with the budgeting and forecasting process as well as partnering with the operations side of the business. You will provide strong financial controls and reporting to the Europe-based Hub.  The company offers a fantastic benefits package which includes:-

Duties will include: -

  • Management of 2 accounts assistants
  • Month end reporting including; Profit & loss, balance sheet and monitoring cashflow performance
  •  Submitting budgets and forecasts to group
  • Analysing business performance and providing explanations for variances in budget & forecast
  • Take responsibility for balance sheet accounts, FAR & stock listings ensuring reconciliations are undertaken on a monthly basis
  • Weekly cash forecasting, driving opportunities to maximise cash and manage working capital
  • Internal review ensuring Stock and WIP are reflected accurately in the system and on reports
  • Conducting thorough cost-based analysis
  •  Business partnering with operations  
  • Performing detailed variance analysis  
  • Provide support on preparation of capex proposals
  • Conducting thorough cost-based analysis

  • Keeping up to date with Accounting Standards and implementing new accounting treatments where necessary
  • Understanding business risks and strategies
  • Prepare and review the supporting schedules for year end audit
  • Preparation of VAT & CIS returns
  • There will be occasional travel required to other offices
  • Continuous improvement initiatives

To be successful for this role you will ideally have the following skills: -

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent)
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Proven experience working in a deadline-driven environment with the ability to prioritise workload
  • Experience in developing and improving processes
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Experience in managing budgets, forecasts, and monthly reporting
  • Excellent IT skills - particularly Excel with SAP and Power BI being an advantage.
  • Experience working within a large manufacturing company (Desirable)
  • Highly driven and committed individual
  • Confident, ambitious, well-rounded
  •  Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail
