The Childcare Assessor will be the key partner to learners and placement providers. They will work with learners to ensure they are supported to achieve their best, whilst developing long-term relationships with employers that will increase placement opportunities they can offer to learners.Main Duties of the Trainer in Childcare:

  • To carry out learner assessments and observations in Workplace settings using an electronic portfolio. To carry out teaching and learning within the qualifications.
  • To mark learner work and give developmental and constructive feedback.
  • To set SMART individual targets.
  • To track and record progress of learner's and provide regular updates to the Team Leader
  • To take proactive measures to ensure that learners achieve their qualifications within the allotted time. To work as part of a wider team and contribute in a positive way to recruitment, standardisation and ongoing improvement in quality and performance.
  • To contribute to the wider engagement with employers in order to maximise opportunities.
  • To participate in the provision of First Aid assistance if required.

Role Requirements:

  • Experience of working in an early years setting as a Nursery Officer or similar role
  • Qualified in Early Years, L3 or above
  • Hold an Assessor award or be willing to work towards
  • Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and team working
  • Able to work in an organised and methodical manner
  • Good use of IT skills / Google Classroom
