About the Role: We are looking for a passionate Lecturer to equip students with the skills they need for their futures through high-quality education and training. This role offers the chance to make a meaningful impact by inspiring students to reach their full potential every day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Assessment: Deliver and assess a range of courses and learning programs, conducting thorough planning, preparation, and marking to ensure effective teaching.
  • Administration: Handle essential administrative tasks, including learner registration, attendance tracking, record-keeping, and reporting. Liaise with parents and guardians for students aged 16-18.
  • Curriculum Planning: Develop schemes of work and lesson plans in alignment with the academic calendar, quality standards, and awarding body requirements.
  • Career Preparation: Prepare students for higher education and future careers by integrating vocational and employability skills into the curriculum.
  • Enrichment Activities: Work with Personal Development Coordinators and the course team to promote enrichment and work experience opportunities.
  • Student Support: Provide pre- and on-course guidance to help students succeed, including interviews, enrollment support, and participating in outreach activities.
  • Pastoral Care: Oversee the academic and pastoral well-being of assigned student groups, tracking attendance, punctuality, assignment completion, and goal-setting.
  • Quality Assurance: Engage in internal quality assessments, liaising with accrediting bodies and ensuring adherence to college policies and standards.

Sub-Objectives:

  • Recruit students effectively, ensuring they are enrolled in the right courses to support positive learning experiences.
  • Deliver consistently excellent teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Achieve quality assurance targets, meeting awarding body standards and internal verification requirements.
  • Collaborate with Student Services to support students’ needs, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Ensure accurate and timely management of data related to student attendance and progress.

Departmental Role: You will report to the Curriculum Manager and regularly update the Programme Leader on objectives related to recruitment, retention, student achievement, attendance, and other key performance indicators. You will work within a supportive curriculum team, sharing best practices and participating in projects as needed.
