This is a fantastic opportunity for a detail-oriented individual to play a key role in ensuring high standards of quality are maintained throughout the production process.
Position Overview:
As a Quality Technician, you will be an integral part of the quality assurance team. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that reflective insulation products meet the stringent quality standards set by the company and comply with industry regulations. This role involves a combination of hands-on testing, data analysis, and collaboration with various departments to maintain and improve product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Quality Inspections: Conduct regular quality inspections and tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods. This includes visual inspections, dimensional measurements, and performance testing to ensure products meet specified standards.
- Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection results and quality data. This documentation is crucial for traceability, audits, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Non-Conformity Reporting: Identify and report any non-conformities or defects in products and materials. Work closely with production and engineering teams to investigate the root causes of these issues and implement corrective actions.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with production, engineering, and R&D teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions. Your input will be vital in developing new products and improving existing ones.
- Procedure Development: Assist in the development and implementation of quality control procedures and standards. Ensure that these procedures are up-to-date, effective, and aligned with industry best practices.
- Root Cause Analysis: Perform root cause analysis on quality issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Use tools such as fishbone diagrams, 5 Whys, and Pareto analysis to identify and address underlying problems.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, including ISO standards and other relevant certifications. Stay informed about changes in regulations and standards that may impact product quality.
- Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain quality testing equipment and instruments. Ensure that all equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly to provide accurate and reliable test results.
- Training: Provide training and support to production staff on quality control processes and best practices. Promote a culture of quality awareness and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a quality control or quality assurance role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical skills.
- Familiarity with quality control methodologies and tools.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficient in using quality testing equipment and software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to effectively communicate quality issues and solutions to various stakeholders.
