The school is looking for a behaviour mentor for the inclusion and learning support department. This role has both pastoral aspects and supporting various classes around the school. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to encourage positive behaviour and learning interventions on a 1-1 and small group basis.

Duties

  • Provide one-on-one mentoring to children, focusing on their individual needs and learning styles.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies to promote positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Utilise applied behaviour analysis techniques to support children with diverse learning requirements.
  • Assist with tutoring sessions in subjects such as literacy and numeracy, ensuring comprehension and engagement.
  • Collaborate with educators, speech therapists, and special education professionals to create comprehensive support plans.
  • Maintain accurate records of each child's progress and communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their development.

The ideal candidate

  • Outgoing and mentoring manner
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and applied behaviour analysis is highly desirable.
  • Background in special education or experience working with children with additional needs is an advantage.
  • Enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their full potential
  • You will be expected to think on your feet and be proactive, no day is the same so being prepared is vital.
  • Ability to form excellent relationships and rapport with pupils
