Our client is a highly respected and well-established groundworks contractor based in Worthing. Specialising in a range of high-quality groundworks services across both private and commercial sectors, they are known for their commitment to excellence, reliability, and delivering projects to the highest standards. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an enthusiastic and driven Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team and support the successful delivery of their project.
Role Overview:
As a Junior Quantity Surveyor, you will be an integral part of the team, working under the guidance of senior surveyors to assist with various aspects of cost management on groundworks projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to kick-start their career in quantity surveying with a focus on groundworks, in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of cost estimates and tender submissions for groundworks projects.
- Help monitor and control project costs, ensuring they remain within budget.
- Assist in the preparation of valuations, payment applications, and final accounts.
- Review subcontractor quotations and assist with procurement and contract administration.
- Support senior QSs with project cost analysis, reporting, and forecasting.
- Maintain accurate records of contracts, project details, and financial documentation.
- Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers as required.
Essential Requirements:
- A degree or relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or a related field (or currently working towards this).
- A genuine interest in starting a career as a Quantity Surveyor within the groundworks sector.
- Some relevant experience or placements within the construction industry (groundworks or general construction experience is a plus).
- Strong communication skills and a proactive approach to work.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work to deadlines.
- A high level of attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and an understanding of industry software is advantageous.
