At Engage, we’re working with an SEND school in Worthing to recruit a full-time SEND Support Assistant with a Sports or Sports coaching background that can join the team in its commitment to improving the attainment of all pupils. About the role

Are you highly motivated and a driven Cover Supervisor or Sports Coach with a passion for sport?

Engage Education is currently looking for a dedicated Sports Specialist to join a school in Worthing, starting as soon as possible. This is a full-time role.

You will receive training provided by the school and Engage Education, and will be a part of a close and dynamic team. The school is supportive and accessible by public transport.

This role is within one of our Pupil Referral Units, meaning there will be a range of behavioural needs within the provision, however, this particular site consists of mostly anxiety and mental health based needs. The ideal candidate will be passionate about supporting children with Social and Emotional Needs.

About you
  • Experience working with students aged 11-16

  • Passion for sports

  • Confident managing behaviour

  • An ability to build rapport with students

  • Have a fun but firm presence

  • An interest in education

We welcome applications from candidates with any level of experience, although previous experience of working with students with challenging behaviour will be an advantage. If you are an aspiring teacher, or an experienced cover supervisor looking for a position, this opportunity could be ideal for you. This role could also suit a candidate with experience of working as a Youth Worker or Behaviour Mentor.
