The ideal candidate will be a proactive and detail-oriented professional with a strong ability to source high-quality materials, negotiate contracts effectively, and foster solid vendor relationships. Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement Strategy Development: Develop and implement effective procurement strategies that optimise both cost-efficiency and product quality, ensuring that the organisation's supply chain runs smoothly and efficiently.
  • Vendor Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with suppliers, ensuring that the organisation benefits from high-quality products and reliable service. Regularly assess and manage vendor performance to ensure adherence to contractual terms and expectations.
  • Contract Negotiation: Evaluate and negotiate supplier contracts, ensuring the organisation receives the best possible pricing, terms, and conditions, while maintaining the desired quality standards.
  • Team Leadership: Oversee and guide the team of Buyers and Procurement Agents, providing leadership and direction to ensure the efficient and timely procurement of goods and services.
  • Record Keeping & Documentation: Ensure accurate and up-to-date records of goods ordered and received, maintaining a streamlined process for tracking procurement activities.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process optimisation, implementing best practices and new strategies to improve procurement operations.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Proven experience in procurement management, including experience with sourcing, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities with experience managing teams and driving performance.
  • Negotiation Expertise: Excellent negotiation skills, with a track record of securing favourable terms with suppliers while maintaining strong relationships.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a focus on cost reduction and process improvements.
  • Knowledge of Procurement Best Practices: Familiarity with sourcing, vendor management, and procurement tools.
