Skilled Machinist / Precision Engineer

A well-established manufacturing company is looking for a Skilled Machinist / Precision Engineer to join its growing engineering team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a time-served machinist to work in a hands-on role within a precision manufacturing environment.

The Role:

You will be responsible for machining precision components, working to engineering drawings, and contributing to the efficient running of a busy machine shop. The role involves working with manual machines, with potential training available for CNC operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Machining Operations Setting up and running manual lathes, knee mills, and drills to produce precision components.
  • Engineering Drawings Reading and interpreting technical drawings to meet required specifications.
  • Tooling & Finishing Using interchangeable inserts and grinding tools to achieve required finishes and tolerances.
  • Bench Fitting & Assembly Experience in bearing renewal and assembly work is beneficial but not essential.
  • Low Volume Precision Work Exposure to mould work and rubber machining is an advantage, though training can be provided.
  • CNC Experience Beneficial but not essential, with training available if required.
About You:
  • Time-served machinist with experience in manual machining (lathes, mills, and drills).
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and precision manufacturing.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a skilled engineering team.
  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.
