Science Solutions are looking to recruit a Materials & Testing Lab Manager for one of our clients based in the Wrexham area.

In order to be considered for the position of Materials & Testing Lab Manager you must have previous experience in managing a team, ideally 2+ years. You must also have experience in mechanically testing materials, mainly composites.

As a Materials & Testing Lab Manager you will be responsible for ensuring test programs are efficiently completed with adherence to the highest standard.

Role requirements

  • Degree educated in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineer, Polymer Science or a closely related subject.
  • Significant experience in mechanical testing of materials, primarily composites.
  • Previous experience in managing a team, ideally in a laboratory environment or similar.
  • Strong communication skills to engage and motivate your team as well as proposing new investment needed to maintain and improve lab capabilities and functionality.

Role responsibilities

  • Ensure testing programs are efficiently completed with adherence to the highest standards.
  • Maintain an effective team by motivating, engaging, inspiring, training and hiring professionals.
  • Be capable of communicating and Laboratory needs to senior members of the organisation in order to maintain and improve overall lab capabilities and functionality.
  • Develop expertise and explore continuous improvement.
