We are supporting an early stage technology company in their search for an experienced CNC Machinist to join the team. The CNC Machinist will work closely with the Design & Development team to prototype new products and develop processes for manufacture. As the business continues to grow, there will be scope to take over full responsibility for the machine shop and recruit a team.This role will suit an experienced machinist who is a capable Miller and Turner. You will be expected to be a competent programmer and have a desire to further your skills with additional training in the latest technologies.This is a salaried role working Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.00pm, with benefits including 25 days holiday (+ bank holidays), salary sacrifice pension scheme, and shares within the business.Duties
  • Programming, setting, and operating 3, 4 & 5 axis CNC machinery (Conversational and G Code)
  • Leading safe operations within the business by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Perform first article inspection using metrology and inspection equipment.
  • Review and technically advise engineers on design feasibility for in house machining and provide proposals for design changes where required.
  • Using manual mills, lathes and other engineering equipment
  • Attention to detail whilst performing engineering operations to ensure accuracy and machine efficiency.
  • Ensuring equipment used is maintained by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
  • To push the machining boundaries and ensure the machine shop is at the pinnacle of technical excellence
  • Investigate additive and other technologies to move the business forward
  • Put forward business cases for new machinery when required
  • Have the ability move in forward and to lead a team and own a department
