About the opportunity:

We are looking for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join the team and perform the following:

  • Assess contractor requirements for site completion and viability, supporting the Commercial Manager with land viability and record-keeping.
  • Secure competitive rates, negotiate fixed prices, and manage sub-contractor tender processes.
  • Analyse tender returns, manage commercial risks, and update tender documents.
  • Oversee sub-contractor selection, performance, and payment processes.
  • Provide timely, accurate management reports and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Build and maintain stakeholder relationships, ensuring continuous improvement and a sustainable supply chain.
  • Lead commercial aspects of key projects to meet business objectives.

About the benefits and rewards:

The salary will be dependent on the level of exposure to the residential industry. The company offers excellent opportunities and offers a basic salary in the region of up to £40k DOE. In addition to the basic salary there will be further company benefits.

About the requirements:

  • Knowledge and experience in house building, including Quantity Surveying in a house builder environment is desirable.
  • Skilled in managing multi-site, multi-product developments, with expertise in commercial viability, budgets, CVRs, and supply chain management.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to gather, analyse, and interpret commercial data.
  • Experienced in working with external bodies, including Local Authorities, and resourcing specialist consultants and suppliers.
  • Professional, confidential approach, with a proven ability to influence and consult effectively.
