Seeking skilled Bench Operatives to work on a contract basis, onsite in Yeovil, Somerset.

The role will involve drilling, tapping and de-burring of Aerospace components, in accordance with Manufacturing Instructions, Specifications and Customer/Regulator Requirements

Role: Bench Operative (Contract)
Location: Yeovil, Somerset
Shift: Mon-Fri. One week earlies, one week lates.
Pay rate: 18.34 per hour PAYE only. Plus holiday pay in addition.
Vetting: BPSS vetting to include 5 years referencing, DBS check & drug screen.
Applicants must be a UK or NATO country passport holder due to the nature of the work involved.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Producing the product to Engineering Drawings and Instructions, following the process layout
  • Drilling, tapping and de-burring (Hand Tools and drill/tapping banks)
  • Documenting all work undertaken throughout the day
  • Quality Control of all work undertaken
  • To achieve on time delivery by ensuring work is completed on time and to the required standard


Ideal candidate profile:

  • Strong Engineering background is essential
  • Knowledge of drilling, tapping and de-burring operations
  • Experienced in the use of hand measuring equipment, such as Vernier, Micrometer, Thread and Plug Gauges
  • High standard of Health & Safety, and adhering to Company Processes & Procedures
  • Working in a Customer-focused environment and achieving targets
  • Possess an understanding of Aerospace practice and the significance of the safety critical work undertaken
  • PC literate with the ability to pick up new systems as required
  • Ability to read and follow instructions as per industry manuals
