Trainee Metal Worker | From £24,000 to £27,370 | Sherborne

As a Trainee Metal Worker, you will become a vital member of the manufacturing team, with the opportunity to progress and gain valuable experience within an established company in the local area.

  • Hours : 14:00 - 22:00 Monday to Friday

Responsibilities

As a Trainee Metal Worker, your duties will involve:

  • Operating a selection of manual and CNC based machinery for metal processing
  • Processing steel to customers’ requirements and tolerances
  • Working within the company’s quality system to ensure the full traceability of customer orders
  • Operating forklifts, combi lifts and the crane, safely and in a controlled manner
  • Loading, offloading of plates and parts from the machines
  • Identifying and locating different steel products using appropriate measuring equipment.

Background

The successful Trainee Metal Worker will have:

  • Competency at reading drawings, orders and following verbal instructions
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure.
