Quality Inspector

Location: YeovilHours: 37 hours per week

  • Monday to Thursday: 7.00am - 3.30pm
  • Friday: 7.00am - 12.00pm
Summary of Functions:

The primary role is to ensure that all products conform to customer drawings and specifications. This includes performing inspections using various measurement devices, ranging from handheld equipment (micrometers and verniers) to more advanced tools like CMMs, Faro Arms, Hommel, and Keyence. Additionally, the role involves completing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) to AS9102 standards and assessing Statistical Process Control (SPC) and capability data to take appropriate actions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safety: Maintain a safe workplace, ensuring all activities adhere to regulatory and company Health and Safety policies and requirements.
  • Inspection: Conduct First Offs, In-Process, Goods Inwards, and Final Inspections according to customer drawings and specifications.
  • FAIR: Prepare and perform First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) in compliance with AS9102 standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Support all Quality Assurance systems to ensure compliance with AS9100 and all required company, customer, and regulatory rulings and processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Participate in company Red Table/Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities and support continuous improvement through the company's Kaizen process.
  • Training and Compliance: Ensure appropriate authorities, training, and skills are in place to perform the role in accordance with Quality Management System (QMS) regulations.
Skills and Experience Required:
  • FAIR Expertise: Proven experience in creating and completing FAIRs to AS9102 standards.
  • Technical Skills: Familiar with the use and programming of relevant equipment, including CMMs, Faro Arms, Hommel, Keyence, and other measurement devices.
  • Drawing Interpretation: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, with a good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive within a fast-paced manufacturing business environment.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborative and able to work as part of a team or individually when required.
