Five Education is working with a special school to recruit a Behaviour Specialist Support Worker in Yeovil. The school places importance on helping students achieve their potential through creative and active curriculums to inspire and motivate them. Pupils in the school range from 7 to 19 years old and have a range of SEND needs such as ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), ACEs (Adverse Childhood Experiences) and ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder).
The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience of working with children and young people who have complex needs. You will need to be highly engaging, compassionate and be able to establish an excellent rapport with pupils.
Main Responsibilities
Support 1:1 with identified pupils in class and around the school
Work under the guidance of the class teacher to enable students to access the curriculum and possibly tailor tasks to their ability levels
Guide pupils when they are struggling and help them to become regulated and calm
Work with the class teacher and SENCO to create a positive learning environment
Essential Criteria
Have an interest in supporting children/young people
Right to work in the UK (Valid Visa)
Relevant references and DBS/police checks if necessary
Able to work 5 days a week (term time only), 8:30-16:30*
*Please note, if you do not have a Non-Voluntary Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, we will need to help you process a new one at a cost of £62.70. This will be refunded after 20 days of work with us.

Pay: Five Education operates a PAYE payroll; this is the most transparent way to be paid with no hidden fees such as admin fee or employer's NI. Please note pay rate is for illustration and does include holiday pay.
