The York office is a dynamic and collaborative environment where they value diversity, professional growth, and employee well-being.Our client is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join their team in York on a fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the finance department, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Credit control - Chasing customers for invoices
  • Answering customer queries
  • Releasing orders
  • Creating credit notes
  • Refunding customers by bank transfer
  • Paying vendors by bank transfer
  • Allocating cash receipts in different currencies
  • Doing credit checks on customers
  • Posting vendor invoice
  • Provide general administrative support to the finance team.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience within finance, particularly within credit control or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel; experience with accounting software SAP would be an advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
