Electrical Tutor - York

Location: YorkSalary: Up to £45,000, depending on skills and experience

A leading training provider is seeking an experienced Electrical Tutor to join their team in York. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to share their expertise and help develop the next generation of electricians.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching and learning across Level 3 electrical qualifications, ensuring apprentices gain the theoretical knowledge and practical skills needed to succeed in the industry.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver engaging course materials in line with City & Guilds and EAL requirements.
  • Teach both theoretical and practical electrical subjects at Level 3.
  • Assess apprentices' coursework and provide timely feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and performance.
  • Ensure a safe and disciplined learning environment.
  • Provide guidance and support to apprentices throughout their training.
  • Stay up to date with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements:

Essential:

  • Level 3 Electrical qualification (or equivalent) covering key topics.
  • GCSE/O'Level Maths and English (A-C, 9-4) or equivalent Level 2 qualification.
  • Teaching experience in Electrical Installations, including blended and remote delivery.
  • Up-to-date industry knowledge.
  • Level 5 teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards).
  • Strong IT and presentation skills.
  • Relevant post-qualification experience in an electrical services organisation.

Desirable:

  • Health & Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely).
  • Assessor or Internal Verifier qualifications (D32, D33, A1, TAQA, etc.).
  • Experience in the contracting or building services industry.
