Job Description
We are looking for a Finance Manager who will help to deliver a finance function that supports their overall strategic aims and objectives. The role reports directly to the Group Head of Finance and works alongside the Group Management Accountant.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the finance team to provide support and mentoring, training, and long-term development.
- Provide support to the team for complex queries relating to payroll, payments, cash book, journals, etc.
- Review of financial controls and identify and implement operational efficiencies.
- All aspects of financial accounting to trial balance and assistance with preparing accruals and prepayments.
- Preparation of VAT data for MTD and PAYE reconciliations.
- Ensure a consistent approach to finance and standardised paperwork across all companies in the Group.
- Develop an influential and effective partnership with directors, managers, and senior staff on relevant topics and attend meetings on an organised or ad-hoc basis, including with external advisors.
- Manage and build effective working relationships within the finance team to deliver high-quality, accurate reporting.
Requirements and Skills
Required
- Working as a finance professional in a complex organisation.
- Managing a team.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office packages including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Possessing good verbal and written communication skills to influence decision making.
- Being able to analyse and interpret management information to identify key patterns and trends.
Desirable
- Experience with Pegasus Opera 3 (Payroll and Accounts Package).
- Accountancy qualification AAT/ACCA/CIMA/ACA (beneficial but not essential, QBE will definitely be considered).
