Do you have conveyancing experience and want to work in a central York location with parking and excellent holidays? This is an office based for a conveyancing assistant working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

Conveyancing assistant duties include:-

  • Preparing quotes and initial paperwork
  • Processing identification documents, and following AML procedures
  • Ordering Land Registry documents and searches
  • Typing and preparing correspondence, documents and forms
  • Liaising with estate agents and third parties either by phone, email or written correspondence
  • Keeping clients updated by phone and/or email
  • Preparing contract packs
  • Ordering redemption statements
  • Assisting with drafting invoices and completion statements
  • Exchanging contracts and organising completions
  • Downloading mortgage offers and updating the relevant systems
  • Preparing bills and financial documentation
  • Post completion working, including preparation of Stamp Duty Land Tax Returns, drafting applications to the Land Registry and sending the completion of registration to the relevant parties on receipt

Skills and Knowledge Required to be successful as a Convencing Assistant:-

  • Some experience of working in a busy Residential Conveyancing Department is essential. Experience of working in Private Client and/or Commercial Property would also be ideal but not essential
  • An understanding about how to handle sensitive and confidential information and financial details is also needed
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • The ability to work both autonomously and as part of a small and friendly team
