I am currently recruiting for a prestigious client in York City Centre looking for a Legal Administrator to join the team.

You would be providing essential support services including managing the receipt and dispatch of important information. You do not need previous Legal experience but do need to have previous administration experience.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Undertake file administration as required.
  • Support legal fee earners within the team on individual transactions and wider team projects.
  • Manage the opening and day-to-day maintenance of files on the firm’s case management system.
  • Handle incoming calls, directing them appropriately or taking messages.
  • Assist with property-related work, including obtaining relevant searches.
  • Assist in the preparation of CQC applications on behalf of clients.
  • Prepare the first draft of transactional documents.
  • Perform copy typing of correspondence and documents, amending and formatting complex documents as needed.
  • Manage pre-exchange and post-exchange of contract work, including preparation and submission of SDLT forms online, stamping of documents, registration, and scheduling of deeds.
  • Prepare invoices and completion statements as directed.
  • Utilise the Land Registry Portal for various tasks including downloading official copies and carrying out searches.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Prior experience as a Legal Assistant/Paralegal or as an Office Administrator.
  • Confident in dealing with clients and a strong team player.
