Adecco's specialist Property Services Division is working with a registered Housing Association and Care provider in North Yorkshire to source a District Heating Manager on a 2 year fixed term contract. Reporting to the Director of Asset Management you will manage the organisation's optimisation strategies, providing standardisation and compliance whilst ensuring transformational change activities are delivered seamlessly across our district heating networks.The range of duties which are covered include:

  • To create the future strategy to deliver the organisation's vision for cost effective and sustainable heating across our heat networks.
  • To liaise with consultants to secure the necessary funding to execute the agreed strategy.
  • To provide technical expertise, leadership and guidance to the organisation in relation to the district heating systems.
  • To oversee the technical specification, contract management, and delivery of optimisation works, obtaining third-party verification.
  • To review the sustainability credentials of our district heating systems, together with any proposed changes to the system.
  • To manage all associated funding bids, with support from contractor/consultants.
  • To take ownership of a system wide options appraisal report that has been set-up to review all sustainable and cost-effective options.
  • To manage tendering of contracts to third parties

Experience and skills required:

  • Ideally your career to date has been within mechanically biased Building Services Engineering, having operational experience on district heating systems.
  • Degree qualified Chartered Engineer, although consideration will be given to candidates having HNC/HND combined with substantial operational and management experience.
  • Proven track record of problem solving and fault finding.
  • Team leader experience.
  • Corporate membership of a relevant professional body eg. CIBSE
  • Knowledge of CDM and robust Health & Safety Training
