About the Client:Castlefield Recruitment is partnering with a reputable Public Sector Organisation in York to recruit a Senior Category Manager for their IT category. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional in category management who’s ready to take the next step in their career! 

In this role, you will support and lead a variety of commercial initiatives, working closely with the Head of Procurement. You’ll be responsible for developing category plans and managing high-value, complex contracts. This fully remote position provides flexibility, though the organisation also offers office-based contracts for those who prefer an in-office environment. ????????

Role Overview:• Act as Category Lead and manage complex, high-value IT procurements• Support a wide range of commercial activities and contribute to the organisation’s procurement strategy• Oversee the entire procurement process, helping develop detailed specifications for complex projects• Drive category strategies and programs of work• Ensure all procurement and contract management activities align with corporate procurement policies• Identify cost optimisation opportunities and efficiencies• Engage with stakeholders, providing expertise and ongoing support
