Job title: Head of Planning

The Company:
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a Multidiscipline Planning and Environmental Consultancy who are looking for a Planning Director to join the team.
Key Tasks & Accountabilities:
- Building the planning team and motivating, developing and managing their performance.
- Building existing client relationships and generating new business.
- Managing client expectations.
- Project managing a mix of planning submissions and appeals.
- Preparing tender responses.
- Performing strategic planning research and policy development including assessments of development potential.
- Making site inspections and assessing merits of proposals.
- Giving guidance to engineers/architects on the production of drawings and supplemental planning information in relation to planning submissions.
- Taking responsibility for the strategic management input of planning projects including financial management.
- Expanding networks and creating relationships with key stakeholders including local authorities.
- Mentoring team through RTPI development processes and procedures.
- Managing, maintaining and growing fee pipeline.
Requirements:
- Chartered membership of The Royal Town Planning Institute or The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
- At least 10 years' proven planning experience of large, scale planning projects across a range of sectors within the private sector.
- At least 5 years' experience of leading and growing a planning team within a planning consultancy environment.
- A track record of sustainable business generation and client base growth.
- Seasoned leader with management experience of directing and developing a team.
