An Education centre in Shipley is seeking a dedicated and confident Learning Support Practitioner (LSP) to join their team, providing essential support for on their Animal Care courses. This role is ideal for individuals who are comfortable and confident in handling a variety of animals and have experience working with students with high needs.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide support to students with high needs, including those with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, autism, ADHD, and secondary assessments.
  • Assist in the day-to-day care and handling of various animals including small mammals (hamsters, gerbils, chinchillas, mice, rats), fish, bearded dragons, frogs, toads, and outdoor animals (chickens, budgies, ferrets).
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to deliver course-specific support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Confidence in handling a variety of animals.
  • Experience working with students with high needs, SEMH, autism, ADHD, and secondary assessments.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt to various learning needs and environments.
