Castle Education are seeking a passionate and dedicated Complex Care Teaching Assistant to join a High Needs SEN school in York. As a Complex Care Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex needs within a SEN school environment. This position is ideal for individuals who have experience in high SEN or complex care settings and are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs. Paying 14-15 per hour!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students with complex needs, including personal care assistance as required.
  • Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualised education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.
  • Support students with sensory integration, communication, mobility, and other specific needs to help them access the curriculum and participate in school activities.
  • Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that promotes the social, emotional, and academic development of all students.
  • Monitor and record student progress, behavior, and well-being, and communicate effectively with parents and caregivers.
  • Qualifications:
  • Previous experience working in a high SEN or complex care setting, preferably within a school environment.
  • A genuine passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
