Trainee EstimatorOverview

A new and exciting opportunity for a recent College Leaver /Graduate within a Construction discipline to work for a business who are very well known in the York market and work on some of the most iconic structures. The business work on projects both small and larger scale and they are now looking to take on a Trainee Estimator. This is an entry level role with massive training and development opportunities for the right individual. If this sounds like a bit of you, then please read on

Responsibilities
  • Preparing cost estimates by analysing proposals
  • Being the initial contact point for clients and the key liaison point
  • Gathering project briefs, specifications and drawings to utilise in the costings process
  • Identify labour, materials and schedule requirements factoring in both direct and indirect costs
  • Generate full estimates, quotations and project schedules
  • Attend project meetings and debrief meetings with senior members if the team on the progress of projects
Qualifications -
  • Qualification or proven experience in a related subject such as Engineering or Construction
  • Ideally some experience of estimating even if part of your degree or college course
  • Excellent communication skills as you will be communicating with clients as well as all divisions of the business who are involved in the project
  • Able to prioritise and work to strict deadlines
  • Able to deal with numbers, a mathematical brain that can analyse quickly
