Our dynamic Further Education and Training College in North Yorkshire is looking for a dedicated Sports Lecturer to join their vibrant team. This is an exciting opportunity to share your expertise in sports and fitness while helping students develop the skills they need to succeed in both their academic and professional lives.As a Sports Lecturer, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons in sports science, coaching, physical education, and fitness, supporting students in achieving their potential both inside and outside the classroom.Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in sports-related subjects, including sports science, coaching, physical education, and fitness.
  • Develop and implement dynamic teaching materials that meet the needs of students at various levels.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to help them achieve their goals.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and development.
  • Contribute to extracurricular activities, including sports teams, events, and initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a high standard of teaching and learning within the department.

Requirements:

  • A UK-recognised teaching qualification (such as PGCE, CertEd, or equivalent).
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Sports Science, Physical Education, Coaching, or a related field (essential).
  • Experience in teaching sports-related subjects at a further education level (preferred).
  • A passion for sports and education, with the ability to inspire and engage students.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • An enhanced DBS check on the update service.
