Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Principal Industrial Engineer to join our Baltimore Logistics Center located in Baltimore, MD. What You’ll Get to Do: Monitor labor performance and develop plans for improvement Support all Warehouse Operations by working cross-functionally with leadership teams Monitor capital resource loading and develop plans for capacity management Coordinate facility capital plan execution Define and document process designs (product routings) Use and maintain models for standard work assignment Lead Continuous Improvement activities (e.g. 5-S, VSM, 6-Sigma) May establish or assist in establishing accident prevention measures May manage training programs for personnel concerning all phases of production operations Basic Qualifications: Bachelor degree with 5 years of experience in Operations Engineering and/or Manufacturing Engineering, Master's degree and 3 years of experience in Operations Engineering and/or Manufacturing Engineering Experience leading teams or projects within a defense, aerospace, engineering, manufacturing, or similar industry Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, excel, including macros and pivot tables Experience with data mining/data analysis Experience with SAP or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications: Advanced Degree in a STEM related field preferably Industrial, Systems, or Mechanical Engineering Professional experience in Industrial engineering Technical experience working in a manufacturing/production environment Experience working with cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment Experience with improving manufacturing workflow utilizing Lean/Six Sigma or equivalent methodologies Familiarity with mixed model manufacturing operations Experience with agile methods of project management or development Strong experience designing visualizations in Tableau in a professional work environment.
