Position Summary:

Provides critical intensive care to Medical and Surgical patient and will when needed care for Cardiac patients. Assists with therapies including but not limited to: vasoactive drug administration, anti-arrhythmic drug administration, thrombolytic therapy and ventilator support. Assists with monitoring of Swan-Ganz, central venous pressure, arterial lines, electrocardiogram, and bedside glucose monitoring, parenteral and enteral nutritional support, continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT), peritoneal dialysis, and acute hemodialysis performed by a hemodialysis nurse.

Assists unit, patient and staff.
Plans for meeting the needs of the patient, staff, physicians, and hospital.
Performs management duties for units under their supervision.
Evaluates the assessment, planning and intervention process.
Demonstrates professional and personal development.
Delivers direct patient care appropriate to the age of patient served.



Reports to: Director of SICU


Minimum Educationx Graduate of a Program in Discipline â–¡ Preferred x Required
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:â–¡ Basic Life Support (BLS) - to be obtained within 30 daysAdvanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - to be obtained within 6 monthsTNCC - to be obtained within 6 monthsPALS - to be obtained within 6 months
Required Licenses[West Virginia, United States] Other
Current licensure by WV State Board of Nursing.
Minimum Work ExperienceOne year nursing experience.
