Pay Range: $24.00-$28.85/hr.
Position Overview
The position requires the use of computer technology and mathematical skill to prepare an estimation of the amount of material needed for the construction of a home in accordance with Company policies.
Essential Job Duties:
- Estimates the quantity of materials needed for Siding, roofing, gutters, & decking for residential construction according to company policy and local building code.
- Assists Account Coordinators as needed with customer orders and materials lists.
- Review actual vs. estimated materials on completion of each project.
- Complies with Company's attendance policy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
- Other duties as assigned by location management.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Minimum education preferred - Technical Degree in engineering or related area.
- Minimum experience required - 2 or more years of construction and building materials related experience.
Special skills required
- Ability to read blueprints and other technical materials.
- Ability to interpret building plans in diagram form and deal with abstract and concrete variables.
- Ability to operate Microsoft Windows based networked computer systems and specialized software application programs and to instruct others in effective use of application software (including Microsoft Excel).
- Must have excellent oral communication skills and positive interpersonal skills.
Special Knowledge required
- Understanding of measurements and basic algebraic math principles.
- Physical demands include sitting for extended periods of time, standing and walking, bending or stooping, lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
