Our Aeronautics Systems sector is currently seeking a Composite Bonder level 2 to join our operations team, located in Clearfield, UT, working on a variety of bonds of dissimilar materials (composite, metal, or laminate) assemblies, parts, skins, components, equipment or structures into semi-finished or finished products. Please note: Only external candidates and NG employees who are not currently aircraft structures mechanics at the Clearfield site will be considered under this requisition. This position requires at least two years of experience working with a broad understanding of the detailed aspects of the job. The candidate will receive general supervision and instructions are given for routine work while detailed instructions are given for new activities or special assignments. They are able to resolve routine questions and perform more advanced functions. What you’ll get to do: Read and interpret blueprints. Lay out articles, cuts parts or materials to size and apply liquid or solid bonding agents. Understanding of ply orientations and vacuum bagging processes Operates autoclave, hydraulic presses and ovens to complete bonding cycle. Control conditions of heat, pressure, and timing by setting and operating various controls according to the specifications for the materials and the bonding agent being used. Sand, burs and smooth over areas, apply sealing resins to cut or exposed edges. Monitor and verify quality of finished product. Complete repairs on composite, metal or laminate bonded products using inspection and rework instructions. Verifies quality of finished product.
