Monitor Tech/Unit Clerk, Med/Surg, Full time, 7pm 7am

The Monitor Tech/Unit Clerk 12HR functions under the direction of the Clinical Director to facilitate a safe, age appropriate and culturally aware patient care by observing cardiac monitors to ensure timely recognitions and reporting of cardiac arrhythmias. Coordinate communications,performs unit-receptionist activities, and accountable for routine clerical activities in the Inpatient Care Units/Medical Surgical Telemetry.

Required Skills

• Demonstrates fluency in English communication to include, reading writing and verbal communication
• Basic EKG interpretation
• Demonstrate good interpersonal skills
• Basic organizational and prioritization skills

Required Experience

• High school graduate or completion of GED
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Prior healthcare experience and medical terminology required
• Successful completion of Monitor Tech Course
• Completion of VIP training within 90 days of hire

Preferred:

• Prior experience as a Monitor Tech and Unit Secretary in an acute hospital setting
