Northrop Grumman’s Law Department is seeking an experienced, highly motivated attorney to serve as Corporate Counsel for its litigation group at the Company’s headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia. The Corporate Counsel will manage and drive strategy on a wide variety of commercial disputes and litigation matters, including relating to contract, environmental, tort, intellectual property, ERISA, employment, and other claims. The Corporate Counsel may also work as needed on investigations or government disputes. Specific responsibilities include: Developing and implementing legal strategies to manage potential disputes and matters in litigation, Working with and managing external lawyers and services providers, Collaborating across all parts of the business to provide effective legal advice to the Company, Briefing senior management on disputes or matters involving significant legal exposure or risk to the Company, Developing and managing legal budgets. We are seeking a candidate with the following: Excellent written and oral communications, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, risk assessment and negotiation skills, Strong work ethic and collaborative approach, Highest standards of integrity, Ability to balance multiple, competing priorities. Job Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Juris Doctor degree, Ability to become a member of the Virginia Bar or licensed Virginia corporate counsel, At least eight years of litigation experience, with more experience preferred, Experience litigating complex commercial matters, Proven expertise as a litigation strategist, US citizenship. Ability to obtain and hold a U.S. DoD security clearance. Preferred Qualifications: Trial and appellate experience, Experience supporting clients in the defense community.
