The Staff Pad is seeking a Director of Operations for our client in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex. The Director, Operations is responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of assigned service lines, ensuring their clinical, financial, and operational performance meets organizational goals. This role requires a strategic leader who can work in partnership with Service Line Physician Leaders to provide a full continuum of care, from hospital consult services to outpatient and community services.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee all aspects of operations for the assigned programs, including administrative, business, and clinical functions.
  • Strategic Development: Develop and implement strategic plans focused on clinical excellence, financial performance, and market growth. Analyze quality, financial, and operational data to identify areas for improvement and standardize processes.
  • Financial Oversight: Prepare and manage annual budgets aligned with organizational goals. Review operating results to ensure financial performance meets objectives and implement corrective actions when necessary.
  • Process Improvement: Collaborate with support services to optimize service line operations, grow volume, enhance service quality, increase revenue, and reduce costs through process improvement and redesign.
  • Talent Management: Select, train, supervise, motivate, and evaluate staff to maximize individual and team capabilities. Develop talent and anticipate future staffing needs.
  • Liaison Role: Act as the primary liaison between the service line and physicians to align services and provide quality patient care. Maintain effective communication and administrative support.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current on industry trends, technology, and treatment modalities relevant to assigned service lines.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with leaders across the care continuum to achieve organizational goals. Build consensus within the department to support both departmental and organization-wide initiatives.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in activities to stay informed about services and providers in the community. Engage with external agencies and community partners to enhance service delivery.
  • Project Management: Oversee the implementation of strategic and operational initiatives, providing input into the development and execution of projects.

 

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in healthcare, with a minimum of 5 years in strong operations management leading multi-specialty or specialty-specific practices with over 60 physicians.
  • Training in LEAN philosophy with Green Belt certification or eligibility.  
  • Over 10 years of solid operations management experience.
  • Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE) certification.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of service line operations and applicable regulatory agencies.
  • Understanding of value-based principles related to safety, quality, and patient experience.
  • Proficiency in financial planning, business administration, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage a growth-oriented department.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively present ideas and interact with all levels of staff and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong decision-making skills, particularly under stress, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships with physicians, supervisors, and hospital staff.
