Our team of healthcare professionals is committed to delivering the highest standards of surgical care in a comfortable, patient-focused environment.

 

Position Overview:

 

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Surgical Tech to join our team. As a Surgical Tech at Surgi-Center of Central VA, you will play a crucial role in assisting our surgeons and healthcare professionals during surgical procedures. This is a full-time position with no weekends, no holidays, and no call required, offering an excellent work-life balance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all equipment and supplies are sterilized and ready.
  • Assist the surgical team by passing instruments and supplies during procedures.
  • Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures.
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and surgeons.
  • Collaborate effectively with nurses, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth surgical procedures.
  • Assist with patient positioning and draping.
  • Handle surgical specimens as required.
  • Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a clean and organized surgical environment.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in surgical technology.

Required Skills:
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification required.
  • Previous experience as a Surgical Tech.
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and sterile field maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure surgical situations.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to patient safety.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
