We are seeking an innovative individual with a real passion for developing groundbreaking products incorporating next generation technologies. As a Staff Engineer in Transformative Innovation you will identify, evaluate, develop, & create new products & technologies that revolutionize the Kitchen & Bath industry.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Initiate & successfully complete Transformative Innovation projects and engineer highly innovative products.
  • Work with Marketing, Industrial Design, and other cross-functional team members to develop new products and technologies that solve customer needs.
  • Determine the technical feasibility of new products and technologies. Create technical requirements, risk mitigation plans, test specifications, high-level schedule plans, and product cost analyses.
  • Design new products and technologies, collaborating with suppliers and operations personnel to ensure manufacturability at competitive costs.
  • Create & test prototypes (mock-ups, 3D Printed parts, etc.) to quickly evaluate new products and technologies.
  • Work with Kohler legal professionals to identify, evaluate, generate, and protect intellectual property.
  • Perform competitive benchmarking and track industry trends.
  • Keep abreast of innovative technologies and perform technical research.
  • Direct and coordinate work of support personnel including outside groups involving design, development, drafting, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), prototype construction, and testing as needed.
  • Contribute sound professional advice and creative ideas, concepts, and approaches to new product design, development projects and others as needed.
  • Communicates technical information concisely and can provide comprehensive recommendations.

Skills/Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from an ABET accredited university is required.
  • 6+ years of product development and/or technology development engineering experience.
