Supervisor, Central Maintenance

Location:  Onsite - Kohler, WI

Opportunity

The function of the Supervisor – Central Maintenance is to provide the supervision and leadership of the skilled trades associates in the Central Maintenance group. Which includes, providing maintenance services in a safe, professional, efficient, and cost-effective manner.

This role is a 1st shift position, Monday – Friday. Hours 6:00 AM-3:00 PM  

Specific Responsibilities

  • Assign and direct the daily activities of the skilled trades associates in maintenance to complete a weekly schedule and daily reactive work.
  • Maintain on-time and on-cost delivery through prioritization of reactive work, utilization of available resources and use of partner contractors.
  • Follow Kohler’s provided work management system for work orders to maintain an organized SAP backlog.
  • Audit completed work orders for accuracy (notes, PM, confirmation, time entry, etc.) to support data analysis.
  • Be the talent champion for associates in maintenance by growing strengths, identifying weaknesses, and facilitating training to close gaps.
  • Recognize associates for accomplishments and cultivate a positive environment that facilitates the advancement and engagement of the maintenance team.
  • Implement necessary disciplinary action to correct inappropriate behavior.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using problem solving methodologies (5S, RCA, BPR).
  • Analyze critical and reoccurring failures to find the root cause. Initiate required action and follow-up to ensure action items are completed.
  • Provide frequent follow-up and timely communication regarding equipment status to process owners.
  • Maintain compliance with all safety and environmental policies and regulations.
  • Drive newer and better maintenance technologies as it aligns with Kohlers core beliefs (i.e. Kohler’s Asset Reliability agenda).
  • All other duties as assigned by supervision. 

Skills/Requirements

  • Associates degree in Electro-mechanical or Supervisory Management preferred or willingness to pursue further education.
  • Prior supervisory experience in maintenance or related technical field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of maintenance or technical experience preferred.
  • Strategic business acumen and deployment; taking creative action in solving problems while exhibiting judgment and a strategic systematic approach to decision-making.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others and establish credibility.
  • Experience with a CMMS system and Microsoft Office Suite

The salary range for this position is $76,050 - $96,050. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.  Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
