Position Summary:
This is a Department of Nursing Service position that provides delivery of patient care with a smooth transition from academic nurse to professional Registered Nurse (RN). Â Must demonstrate the clinical ability to work as Primary RN on the Unit to which assigned. Â Must be able to coordinate the delivery of patient care on the Unit; completes required documentation; participates inpatient/family teaching and discharge planning, effectively utilizing the Nursing Process. Â
Reports to: Med Surg/Tele Director
FLSA: Â Non-exemptÂ
Minimum Qualifications:
X Associate’s degree Required within 90 days of hire.
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:
BLS Required On Hire (If ACLS is current, BLS is not required).
Licenses:
Arizona Registered Nurse (RN) License or Compact State Registered Nurse (RN) License required within 6 months of hire.
ACLS and PALS within 6 months of hire
Competencies:
EKG Course and NIHSS Stroke within 30 days of hire and annually thereafter.
