What you’ll do in this role:
- Manage incoming lab results based on infusion schedule and per MD order.
- Add lab results to patients’ chart in Caretend as appropriate.
- Receive verbal orders and document per protocol.
- Communicate effectively with LabCorp regarding results, missing results, and missing requisition information.
- Report lab results to appropriate personnel.
- Assess patients’ telephonically regarding critical lab results.
- Communicate effectively with interprofessional team in Monday and AlayaCare as appropriate.
We are looking for a compassionate Lab Nurse with:
- Must possess the ability to multi-task and frequently change direction.
- Assists in coordinating/scheduling lab draws.
- Organizes assigned workload to facilitate its accomplishment.
- Communicates with supervisor to solve patient care issues.
- Participates in department QA activities as requested.
- Attends designated departmental meetings as scheduled.
- College degree/ certification required or equivalent experience.
- RN: 2 years (Required)
- ER/ICU/Infusion: 1 year preferred (critical thinking)
- Infusion experience in a hospital or Home Health setting: 1 year (Preferred)
