Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Staff Engineer Systems (Technical PM) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This role is located in Melbourne, FL. In this role, the successful candidate will serve in a technical program management role to lead a research area associated with our key lab environment. Primary responsibilities are cost and schedule, but a fundamental understanding of the program’s technical aspect is essential for success. The primary objective is achieving technical goals, including demonstration and experimentations, while maintaining the program’s cost and on schedule. You will lead a cross-functional team of engineers and will be responsible for program success. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for leading a fast pace and results focused program, with the expectation of demonstrating progress on prototype devices at least every six months. Responsible for managing multiple subcontractors, who geographically dispersed across the continental Unites States, and whose contributions are essential for technical success. Reporting cost, schedule, configuration, and technical status to the BAST portfolio leadership. Responsible for managing CRAD funding allocations. Managing all technical, financial, contractual and schedule aspects of multiple experimentation efforts involving our live-virtual-constructive lab (hardware in the loop testing). Maintaining configuration management of program documentation, hardware, and lab environment. Identifying additional capital needed to meet portfolio goals. Developing and delivering presentations to customers, executive management, and program stakeholders. Development and adherence to roadmaps, plans, and schedules. Identifying, allocating and managing program resources accordingly. Providing programmatic and technical guidance to the technical lab team. Leading a cross functional team with a wide range of skill sets, ensuring roles and responsibilities of all team members are well understood and executed. Providing overall leadership and driving them toward technical excellence. Ensuring program team understands and adheres to internal or contract scope and manages change via appropriate processes and controls. Identifying, allocating, deconflicting and managing program resources, such as facilities, labs, equipment, and human resources. Basic Qualifications: Must have a Bachelor of Science degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) discipline AND 12 years of related professional/military experience OR a Master of Science degree in a STEM discipline AND 10 years of related professional/military experience OR a STEM Ph.D. AND 8 years of related professional/military experience. Must have an active DoD Secret or higher clearance (with a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or currently enrolled into Continuous Evaluation). Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance prior to the commencement of employment. Must have experience developing project cost and schedules.
