Northrop Grumman is currently seeking a (STE) - Principal Special Test Equip. Engineer / Sr. Principal Special Test Equip. Engineer with/ Active Clearance to work with our talented Advanced Weapons team located in Northridge, CA, and will be an on-site position.

Responsibilities for this position include (but are not limited to):

  • Be a lead for projects –multiple test stations and test adapters that need to be built, drawing packages completed, etc...

  • Creating and maintaining project schedule

  • Ensure the entire scope of work required to deliver STE is captured in the project schedule

  • Collaborate with various engineering groups to identify dependencies for STE activities

  • Establish STE deliverable plan in advance of program execution (workaround for unreleased documentation, PAR NCs required for production build, resource planning/availability.

  • Facilitate completion of open action items

  • Coordinate with multi-functional teams daily as required to make sure the tasks are getting done

  • Coordinate with GSC (planning, MPM, buyers, etc.) to ensure material availability according to project schedule

  • Evaluate material shortages for impact on schedule

  • Escalate material risks to schedule for expedited needs

  • Coordinate with PM for funding for required material procurement

  • Coordinate with quality to resolve non-conformances and timely inspection

  • Coordinate with MFG Eng to expedite manufacturing paperwork (routers, MHRs, etc.)

  • Coordinate with STE team to coordinate dependencies (personnel, hardware, documentation, etc.) to support completion of activities according to schedule

  • Coordinate with subcontracts for status updates on supplier STE

  • Escalate risks to program or task schedule

  • Provide status to Program Manager (PM)

Basic Qualifications for a STE Project Engineer (Level T03):

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM)

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering/test or infrastructure/architecture experience. Or, Masters Degree with 8 years of relevant engineering experience in related field.

  • Experience project lead planning and organizing the project, setting deadlines and milestones.

  • Experience managing the schedule and delegating tasks to team members.

  • Experience preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring assigned engineering projects.

  • Experience managing the team effectively, delegating tasks, providing feedback and support, and ensuring that the team works together toward the project's success.

Basic Qualifications for a STE Project Engineer (Level T04):

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM)

  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant engineering/test or infrastructure/architecture experience. Or, Masters Degree with 6 years of relevant engineering experience in related field.

  • Experience project lead planning and organizing the project, setting deadlines and milestones.

  • Experience managing the schedule and delegating tasks to team members.

  • Experience preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring assigned engineering projects.

  • Experience managing the team effectively, delegating tasks, providing feedback and support, and ensuring that the team works together toward the project's success.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance (investigation completed within last 5 years)

  • Experience in testing electronics, technical leadership, problem-solving, and team collaboration.

  • Experience in project management, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience motivating teams and solving problems.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines. Overlooking and ensuring a smooth workflow.

Salary Range: $97,500 - $146,300
Salary Range 2: $120,900 - $181,300
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
