About The Position

Barton is are seeking a skilled Internal Medicine Physician for a locum tenens position at a Hospital in Maine. This 90-day assignment starts on 05/12/2025, with flexible scheduling options of either four 10-hour days (Tuesday-Friday) or five 8-hour days (Monday-Friday). The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing a full panel of internal medicine patients, focusing on common conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, COPD, and acute care symptoms. This role offers a balanced work-life schedule with no nights, weekends, holidays, or call-back duties. The physician will be responsible for providing comprehensive primary care to adult patients, ensuring high-quality patient outcomes in a hospital setting.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:Ā 

ā€¢ Manage a full panel of internal medicine patientsĀ 

ā€¢ Diagnose and treat common conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and COPDĀ 

ā€¢ Address acute care symptoms for internal medicine patientsĀ 

ā€¢ Perform routine physical examinations and health screeningsĀ 

ā€¢ Develop and implement treatment plans for chronic conditionsĀ 

ā€¢ Order and interpret diagnostic tests and lab resultsĀ 

ā€¢ Prescribe medications and monitor their effectivenessĀ 

ā€¢ Provide patient education on disease prevention and health maintenanceĀ 

ā€¢ Collaborate with specialists and other healthcare providers as neededĀ 

ā€¢ Utilize Meditech EHR system and paper charts for patient documentationĀ 

ā€¢ Stay updated on the latest advancements in internal medicineĀ 

ā€¢ Ensure compliance with hospital policies and proceduresĀ 

ā€¢ Contribute to quality improvement initiatives in the departmentĀ 

ā€¢ Maintain accurate and timely medical records
