Summary: 

 Improves prescribing safety by compiling correct, current medication lists for patients admitted to the hospital.  Optimizes the medication reconciliation process for providers and decreases medication errors by alleviating incomplete or inaccurate mediation history information.  Updates and clarifies drug allergy information for the patient’s electronic health record.  Maintains other standard capabilities and functions of a pharmacy technician, including preparing, charging, prepackaging, delivering, outdating, ordering, and receiving medications under the supervision of the Pharmacist.

Required Education

High school diploma or equivalent is required

Required License:

NCBOP Pharmacy Technician Registration is required

Required Certification: 

Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Certificate is required
