Job Description
- Job Title: Business Development Executive
- Location: Aberdeen
- Salary: Competitive with Bonus + Car/Allowance
As a Business Development Executive within the SGS Industrial Division, your primary focus will be on driving sales and business development for Industries and Environment services with focus on Energy Transition and Net Zero. You will play a key role in identifying and contacting new B2B clients, securing new business opportunities, and growing existing accounts. This role is predominantly customer-facing and field-based, involving national travel, with occasional overnight stays for long-distance trips.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategies to secure new business in the Renewable Energy sector.
- Manage and grow existing client accounts to achieve sales targets.
- Conduct consultative sales engagements, understanding client needs and delivering tailored solutions.
- Work independently while adhering to measurable productivity targets and utilizing a CRM system to manage sales activities.
- Travel across the UK to meet clients, present services, and attend industry events when needed.
- Promote SGS services related to materials testing, laboratory work, and field engineering services.
Key Services to Promote:
- Energy Transition: Carbon Capture and Storage, Hydrogen and Net Zero opportunities
- Laboratory Services: Production Chemistry services, Asset integrity management, NDT (Non-Destructive Testing), metallurgical, mechanical, and chemical analysis, pressure and corrosion testing.
- Field Engineering Services: Flow measurement services, Visual and dimensional inspections of pipe and structural welds, oil condition monitoring, and analysis of lubricating oils, greases, and fuels.
- Materials Testing: Metallurgy, failure analysis, quality investigation, material selection, and contaminants testing.
- Data Analytics & Monitoring: Measuring and monitoring data for oil condition, including transformer oil testing.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Previous experience in a business development or sales role within the wider TIC (Testing, Inspection, and Certification) sector or a related industry.
- Strong understanding of Energy Transition services.
- Ability to work autonomously, with a self-motivated approach to meeting sales targets.
- Consultative selling skills with the ability to build strong relationships and provide value-driven solutions.
- Experience in using CRM systems for managing client relationships and reporting sales activity.
- Willingness to travel nationally and stay overnight when required.

Qualifications
Essential:
- Proficient use of Microsoft packages
- Understanding of the Energy Transition and Net Zero goals
Desirable:
